For strong, long-lasting replacement teeth that look and feel like natural teeth, there’s nothing better than dental implants. The implant procedure starts by placing a slender post in the bone of the jaw in the location where the natural tooth was lost. This post (the implant) will act as a root for the porcelain replacement tooth that will come later.
This post is made from titanium because this metal bonds well with human bone. It is used for many types of joint replacement surgeries. Once the post bonds with the bone in your jaw, a connection called an “abutment” will be attached to the top of the implant. The final step is the attachment of a clean, durable porcelain tooth to the abutment.
